Green and red apples contain vitamin C, potassium, pectin, and are rich in phytonutrients (polyphenols, carotenes and quercetin). Pear juice contains copper, potassium, vitamins C and K and is rich in phytonutrients (bioflavonoids and carotenoids) making it a great source of antioxidants. Lime juice is rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids and contains folate while ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compounds gingerols.
Apple juice contains antioxidant polyphenols and pectin which can act as natural anti-inflammatories and have been studied for their benefits in many diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, cardiovascular disease (lowering triglycerides and cholesterol), type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer, through their beneficial effects on gut bacteria balance. Apples are also a rich source of quercetin, a natural anti-histamine and may support immune health and energy production.
Pears and their juice have rich antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to lower inflammation, thought to be the root of many diseases. They contain vitamin K, needed by the body for blood clotting and bone health and copper, which supports energy production and cholesterol balance. Pears have long been used as a natural treatment for constipation, their fructose, sorbitol and soluble fibre supporting gut health.
Limes, rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids, have natural antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and may be beneficial in helping prevent diseases such as asthma, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and rheumatoid arthritis. They also support digestive, skin, immune and heart health.
