Carrots have also been studied for their role in protecting against diabetes, cardiovascular disease, liver disease and aiding wound healing. Carotenes lutein and zeaxanthin are powerful antioxidants in carrots that protect both eye and brain health.
Apple juice contains antioxidant polyphenols and pectin which can act as natural anti-inflammatories and have been studied for their benefits in many diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, cardiovascular disease (lowering triglycerides and cholesterol), type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer, through their beneficial effects on gut bacteria balance. Beetroot has been studied in both health and sports science for boosting nitric oxide levels which may increase energy, muscle recovery, blood flow, lower blood pressure and increase mental strength. It contains powerful anti-inflammatory compounds and betalains, phytonutrients that help with liver detoxification.
Lemons have natural antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which make them great for all-round disease prevention.
